Kings Beach

Kings Beach has it all!! Rockpools, child-friendly water fountain, oceanfront saltwater swimming pool, 500m long beach with patrolled area, coastal walkways, playground and BBQ’s, Café’s and restaurants the list keeps going. Everything you need is just a few minutes’ walk away, so you can unpack your bags and never set foot in a car until the day you leave.

At the northern end of King’s Beach is the ocean pool, Pavilion & headland. The Pavilion is a heritage listed building, built in 1937. Just in front of the Pavilion has lovely shady green space perfect for a picnic or just to look at the beach. The headland is the best spot for views. Watch cargo ships & cruise ships travelling through the shipping channel. In Whale season brings the humpback whales on their annual trip to give birth to their babies.

The southern end of King’s Beach is on the boardwalk that joins Kings beach to Happy Valley. You can see Moreton Island, Bribie Island as well as the Glass House Mountains from this spot.

Things To Do & See

Whale Watching
Winter means whales in Caloundra! June marks the official start of the whale watching season here, which runs all the way through to November. Having fuelled up on tonnes of Antarctic krill and small fish over summer, the whales are returning to warmer northern waters to birth their calves—and we’ve got a front-row seat to the action as they migrate along the Sunshine Coast’s ‘humpback highway’.

The King’s Beach Ampitheatre
King’s Beach amphitheater is at the entrance to the beach area. A large green oval for families to enjoy surrounded by parkland areas. There is a full stage under cover that is used often for events.
