Meridan Plains is a family-friendly suburb on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, located about 8 km northwest of Caloundra. It is a quiet, primarily residential area known for its green spaces, close proximity to nearby beaches, and easy access to the Bruce Highway. It was named after the Meriden Plains pastoral run, south of the Mooloolah River, taken up by Edmund William and Richard Westerway c1870. The suburb was named in 1988. The size of Meridan Plains is approximately 17.7 square kilometres. There are 16 parks, covering nearly 17.4% of the total area.
